Jofra Archer keen to play in Ashes 2025

England pacer Jofra Archer is willing to play the remaining two Test matches against India and also come back stronger in the Ashes 2025 series against Australia.

Archer returned to playing Test cricket for the first time since 2021 and made an immediate impact against India in the Lord's Test. He picked up five wickets in the match including the key wickets of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant in the second innings. He picked up Jaiswal twice in the match.

Archer's pace became a tough prospect for the Indian batters to handle and he was bowling with a lot of gas. He had a few words exchanged with the Indian batters as well during his performance in the match.

I Wanted To Play In The Ashes - Jofra Archer

After England's win at Lord's, Jofra Archer said he is willing to play the remaining two Tests against India and also in the Ashes later this year. He is being closely monitored by the England medical team as well since his comeback.

"I can play the other two (Tests against India) if they let me," Archer said. "I don't want to lose this series. I told Keysey (England men's managing director, Rob Key) I wanted to play the Test summer and I wanted to play the Ashes. I think one tick is already there, and I will do everything possible in my power to be on the plane in November.”

Archer is a key figure in England's bowling attack and probably the leader of the attack now with James Anderson and Stuart Broad retired. England last won an Ashes series on Australian soil back in 2010 and Jofra Archer is key to their hopes of winning Down Under once again.
