Virat Kohli has created history by becoming the first player ever to reach a 900+ rating in all three international formats of the game. The ICC has officially updated his career-best T20I rating from 897 to 909, finally acknowledging the feat more than a year after he retired from T20Is following India’s triumph in the T20 World Cup 2024.

Kohli Joins T20I Elites with Historic 900+ Rating and Stellar Career Stats

This update places Kohli in an elite category, the only cricketer in history to breach the 900-rating mark in Tests, ODIs, and T20Is.

Kohli now joins Surya Kumar Yadav and Dawid Malan as one of only three batters to hit the 900-rating milestone in T20Is. Currently, Malan holds the highest rating with 919 points, followed by Surya (912) and Kohli now in third with 909 points.

Kohli's 900+ Ratings Backed by Legendary Numbers Across All Formats

With 125 games played and 4,188 runs at an average of 48.69 and a strike rate of 137.04, including a best score of 122, the former captain of India had a remarkable T20I career and was the third-highest run scorer in the format.

In 123 Test matches, Virat Kohli amassed 9,230 runs at an average of 46.35 and 30 hundreds. His career-best Test rating of 937, which ranks 11th all-time, is still the highest of any Indian batter.

With his best rating of 900 points in the format, Kohli has amassed over 14,000 runs in ODIs, including a record 51 hundreds.

Virat Kohli's legacy keeps expanding even after he stopped playing Test matches and Twenty20 Internationals. Even in retirement, he continues to be a towering figure despite records falling.

The star batter is expected to return to action soon, as the BCCI is planning a short tour to Sri Lanka for 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is in August, replacing the postponed Bangladesh tour due to security concerns.
