Summary

Former Indian skipper Sunil Gavaskar has again questioned the use of technology on KL Rahul's decision on Day 5 at Lord's.

Ben Stokes dismissing KL Rahul on Day 5 at Lord's

The wicket of KL Rahul has turned the game around in favour of England on the final day of the Lord's Test. Needing 135 more runs to win the second Test, India lost four wickets in the first session, including that of Rahul.

Rahul was unbeaten on 33 runs overnight as he saw four wickets go down in the final session on day 4. However, the Indian batter kept a tight defense and managed to remain unbeaten.

On day 5, he came out to open the batting with Rishabh Pant ( 9 runs off 12 balls). Jofra Archer accounted for Pant's wicket with a fabulous delivery around the stumps. He fell on the 21st over of India's innings.

DRS Replay On KL Rahul's Dismissal

India then lost the big wicket of KL Rahul (39 runs off 58 balls) adding just six runs to his overnight score. Ben Stokes was the bowler. He bowled a delivery outside the off stump that came in sharply. The ball jagged back sharply and missed KL Rahul's bat and thudded onto his pads.

The umpires ruled it not out and it was then that Stokes took the DRS. On replays, it showed that the ball was going onto hit the stumps. The on-field umpire then had to change his decision. Rahul's wicket was a big blow as India went down to 81 runs for the loss of six wickets. The third umpire had to change his decision after it was three reds on replay.

Meanwhile, former Indian skipper Sunil Gavaskar has again questioned the use of technology on KL Rahul's decision. The former Indian skipper said that similar calls were given not out when India were bowling.

"Surprisingly, this one didn’t bounce that much. When Indian bowlers were bowling, balls were going above the stump mostly in reviews. I am questioning the technology," Gavaskar said to NDTV.

Gavaskar Slams Joe Root's Decision

Previously, Sunil Gavaskar was angry with Joe Root, given not out on a delivery from Mohammed Siraj that looked a lot closer. Meanwhile, chasing 135 to win, India have already lost eight wickets needing still over 60 runs at Lord's. Unbeaten Ravindra Jadeja holds the key for India.
