RCB pacer Yash Dayal breathed a sigh of relief after the judgment passed by the Allahabad High Court over his alleged sexual harassment case.

The court granted him interim protection from arrest on the case until the next hearing date. In the process, the court quashed the charges of harassment slapped on him by a woman from Ghaziabad who was his alleged girlfriend.

Dayal was facing allegations of exploiting the women mentally and physically for five years on the pretext of marriage with the women filing an FIR against him on July 6.

Can't Be Fooled For Five Years - Division Bench's Verdict On Yash Dayal's Case

However, a division bench of Justices Siddharth Verma and Anil Kumar has stayed orders of arrest and any police action on the pacer after hearing his case. They have also issued a notice to the defendants for opposing his interim relief and asked for a response. The panel decided after carefully reading the submissions of both parties and let the cricketer free as of now.

"You could have been fooled for 1 day, 2 day 3 day…but 5 years...you are entering into a relationship for 5 years...one can't be fooled for 5 years," the bench orally observed during the proceedings.

Previously, Yash Dayal was booked by the Indirapuram Police under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The cricketer then decided to move his appeal to the High Court last week, seeking justice on behalf of his appeal. As it turned out, the panel has granted him interim relief, quashing all the charges.

Alleged Woman's Statement On Yash Dayal Exploiting Her

The woman went on record saying the pacer had physical relations with him promised on the pretext of marriage. She further added that she was suffering from depression and was seeking treatment.

“He repeatedly made physical relations with me by falsely promising marriage and introduced me to his family, who assured that I would be their daughter-in-law. I maintained the relationship with complete honesty and dedication,” the woman said.
“I tried to end my life many times because I couldn’t get out of the mental pain, and he and his family kept giving me false assurances. His relationship with other women caused me deep mental trauma and broke me down,” she alleged saying that she even tried committing suicide.
